# How to Convert a PDF to JPG or PNG Images in Windows 11 URL: https://www.mytechnician.tech/tips/how-to-convert-pdf-to-jpg-windows-11/ Published: 2026-11-08 | Author: Ankit Kumar Tags: Windows 11, PDF, Images, Files Summary: Save PDF pages as JPG or PNG images on Windows 11 or 10. Capture one page with Snipping Tool, export every page at once, and pick the right format and dpi. Recommended app: Quick File Converter, https://www.mytechnician.tech/apps/file-converter/ (Microsoft Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9MTH938Z7S55?hl=en-us&cid=mytechnician-web). Optional; every step below uses built-in Windows tools. ## The Problem A website accepts only image uploads, you want a page of a PDF as a picture in a presentation, or a chat app shows PDFs badly. You need the page as a JPG or PNG. Windows 11 has no "export PDF as image" option, but Snipping Tool handles single pages well, and a PDF tool handles the rest. ## Choose JPG or PNG * **PNG:** sharp edges, perfect for pages of text, diagrams, and screenshots. Larger files for photos. * **JPG:** smaller files for photos and scanned pages. Text can look slightly soft at low quality. When unsure, choose PNG for text-heavy pages and JPG for photos. ## Step 1: Capture One Page with Snipping Tool 1. Open the PDF in **Microsoft Edge**. 2. Choose **Page view** → **One page**, and zoom so the page fills as much of the screen as possible. The capture is only as sharp as the page appears on screen. 3. Press **Windows + Shift + S** and choose **Rectangle**. 4. Drag around the page. 5. Click the notification to open the capture, then choose **Save** (**Ctrl + S**). Pick **PNG** or **JPG** in **Save as type**. On a large or high-resolution monitor this gives a clear image. On a small laptop screen, small print may be soft: use Step 2 instead. ## Step 2: Export Every Page at a Fixed Resolution For more than a page or two, or when quality matters, use a PDF tool that renders pages to images. The settings that matter: * **Resolution (dpi):** 150 dpi is fine for screens and web uploads. Use 300 dpi for printing. * **Format:** PNG or JPG, as above. * **Pages:** all pages, or a range. Each page becomes its own image, usually named with the page number. > **Exporting whole PDFs as images?** [Quick File Converter](https://www.mytechnician.tech/apps/file-converter/) saves every page of a PDF as a PNG or JPG on the PC, with the resolution you choose, and names each file by page number. PDFs up to 200 MB are supported. Nothing is uploaded. ## Step 3: Shrink Images for Uploads Upload forms often cap images at 1 or 2 MB: 1. Open the image in **Photos**, then choose **Edit** → **Resize** (or **...** → **Resize image**, depending on the Photos version). 2. Pick a smaller size, or set the width to about **1600 pixels**. 3. Save as a copy. **Paint** can do the same: **Image** → **Resize**, then **File** → **Save as**. ## FAQ ### How do I convert a PDF to JPG without software?
