Accessibility

Last updated: October 30, 2026

Our guides are for anyone with a broken PC, so they need to work for everyone. We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we do

  • Text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute for readers with low vision.
  • Pages are built to work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Pages use real headings and landmarks, so screen readers can jump between sections.
  • App screenshots have written descriptions.
  • The homepage video never plays automatically if your system is set to reduce motion, and has a pause button.
  • Pages reflow to a single column on small screens and at high zoom.

Known gaps

  • Most guides describe each step in text without a screenshot. That suits screen readers, but some people find pictures easier to follow, and we are adding them.
  • Ads are supplied by Google AdSense. We cannot fully control their content or markup.
  • Our Windows apps follow Windows accessibility settings where they can, but have not been formally audited.

Report a barrier
