Browsers & Web guides
Keep the browser fast and clean: crashes, notification spam, runaway memory use, and clearing the cache.
Where to begin
First, find out whether the problem belongs to the browser or to one site. Open the same page in a private window and in a second browser. If it works there, the cause is usually an extension, stored site data, or the browser profile.
Crashes and high memory use often come from extensions and large numbers of open tabs. Turn all extensions off, then turn them back on one at a time until the problem returns.
Constant pop-up notifications on the desktop usually come from a site you allowed by accident. You can remove that permission in the browser settings.
